Why I Choose to Rock

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always dreamed of living a life filled with nightly concerts and lots of new adventures in all kinds of different cities. It took some time, but I have finally begun living the life that I used to only envision for myself. At this point, a lot of my favorite bands are no longer together. And if they are, they’re a little bit out of my budget for me to see at the moment. These circumstances have pushed me to develop an interest in both the indie world and my local music scene here in Houston. From folk-rock to indie-pop, Rose Likes Rock covers it all.

Since another big goal of mine is to travel as much as possible, Rose Likes Rock will chronicle those adventures, too. Texas is such an enormous state, so road trips are a pretty regular staple in my schedule, especially when it comes to seeing different bands and artists that can’t always make it to Houston. Every once in a while, I’ll even fly across the country just to see a band. Who knows where else this music obsession will take me?

I can’t imagine being more passionate about anything other than music. I’m incredibly horrible at creating it, but I am pretty darn amazing at appreciating it. They say those who can’t do, teach. Well I can’t do, and I don’t ever want to teach. So I write instead.

Take a look around, and you’ll see that my taste in music is pretty selective. It’s hard to find others that are interested in a lot of the things I am, too. So if you come across a band or artist feature that you like, please don’t hesitate to let me know! The real end goal is to just have people to talk about music with! Have any recommendations for me? Let me know about those, too! And please please please hit that follow button on the right hand side! I mean, who doesn’t like rock?
